What we want for our students is very simple and very ambitious
at the same time: we want them to become BILINGUAL and
BICULTURAL. Our commitment is to provide them with the
necessary tools to achieve it. Those tools are a strong academic
curriculum, the development of the FUNdamentals of the
language, and a safe, fostering environment that will conduct
them to their final destination: a Successful Learning Process.
BTBS stands for Bell Tower Bilingual School.
What do we mean by Bilingual School? As a Bilingual School our
goal is to promote education at the early stages.  Our goal is not
only to expose young children to a second language but also, and
more importantly, to learn about another culture.

The language of choice for this specific program is English for
the morning session and Spanish for the afternoon session.
Why? As you know, being bilingual is actually not a choice in
California, but a necessity. The number of Spanish speakers has
increased in the last 10 years to 50% of the population in
California. Every day there are more and more places where
bilingual speakers are needed: teachers, doctors, nurses,
lawyers, only to name a few, who must be able to communicate
in Spanish. How can we be prepared for the impact that this effect
will produce in our community? By preparing our children from
the early stages, teaching them not only the language but the
culture of which the Hispanic people are part.
That is why BTBS is here, to help you and your child to be
prepared for the future….

We are pleased to say that BTBS is the only private school in
Alhambra (and in the Los Angeles area) that offers a program
with these characteristics to prepare your children for success in
this bilingual and bicultural society!
But we know that not only Spanish is needed in our community.
Chinese is also required in many places. That is why our
program also offers Chinese (Mandarin) classes once a week as
a Foreign Language.

We are proud to say that each program is conducted by a
bilingual teacher, fluent in English and Spanish (or Mandarin for
the Chinese portion of the program). Teachers are specially
trained for each program and they are there to help your children
to make a smooth transition from one program to the other.

Vision, Goals and Philosophy

Our Vision      Our Goal      BTBS Philosophy      BTLA Philosophy
Bell Tower Language Academy is a unique and distinctive
language learning program for children with locations in the Los
Angeles area in CA, that is characterized by fostering their
students' self-esteem and confidence, developing their
academic competence while building the necessary language
abilities for an effective social interaction.

Our program is much more than just language classes. We
booster our program with multiple learning experiences that
promote their integral growth including components such as
dance, music, literature, arts, history and language, in a full
immersion program that is conducted completely in Spanish
and/or Mandarin..

Because we believe in supporting parents to foster the growth of
their children emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually,
we encourage and support parents to participate in this learning
process.

Teachers work in conjunction with parents to master their child’s
abilities and provide necessary support for the child’s success.
Working together as a team will help our students achieve their
goal.

Adult classes can be arranged by request.
Our program provides education in all areas of a child’s
development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. Active
exploration is encouraged through learning areas and interaction
with adults and peers.

The difficulty, complexity, and challenge of activities increase as
the child develops understanding of concepts and skills. The
program offers a balance of indoor and outdoor activities, restful
and active movement activities, and a varied curriculum
encompassing readiness, art, music, drama, library, computer,
physical education, math, science, and social awareness.

Each child is an individual. Teachers observe and record each
child’s special interests and developmental progress in order to
meet the needs of children who demonstrate unusual interest
and capabilities outside the normal developmental range. Our
program is designed to develop character, integrity, self-esteem,
and positive feelings toward learning.

The
BTBS mission, in partnership with families and
communities, is to provide high quality, developmentally
appropriate early childhood education, which will prepare all
children for a positive educational start.
